To Whom It May Concern: 

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

I request that a copy of the following documents be provided to me: 

  • Civil Citations issued by the NUPD and/or the City of Evanston to five (5) Northwestern University students for activities relating to protests on the night of November 5, 2019. 
  • Motion to dismiss issued by the city of Evanston in relation to the above civil citations, as stated in court hearings on 01/09/2020 for the above civil citations.  

In order to help to determine my status to assess fees, you should know that I am a representative of the news media affiliated with the Northwestern News Network, and this request is made as part of news gathering and not for a commercial use.

Disclosure of the requested information to me is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public and student understanding of the operations or activities of the government and is not primarily in my commercial interest. 

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
