Request Closed   Hide Public

Fulfilled - Private Information Redacted

We released all of the requested documents, except personal information, such as home addresses, telephone numbers, personal e-mail addresses, driver's license numbers, social security numbers, and credit card numbers, were removed from the documents to protect the privacy or identity of another individual (5 ILCS 140/2(c-5) and 7(1)(b)). As the complaints and the information related to these complaints is not yet public, details of the complaints have been redacted as well as the identity of the respondents (who have not yet been notified of the complaint).  Once again, once the Board of Ethics meets and if they determine jurisdiction over these complaints, these documents will be released.  Until them, the right to privacy of the respondent outweighs the public interest in the document disclosure as it is still unknown if the Board holds jurisdiction regarding these complaints.

You can file a request for review of the redactions with the Public Access Counselor of the Illinois Attorney General either by mail at 500 South 2nd Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706, or telephone at (217) 558-0486. In addition, you have the right to seek judicial review of this denial.
